1. Service and Definitions

These Terms govern the use of PalmDox (the "Service"), operated by nexonbook Corp. (the "Company"). The Service converts uploaded documents (PDF, DOCX) into chapter/page-structured web documents ("DOX") and provides editing, viewing, and hosting. A Credit is the billing unit of the Service; one Credit corresponds to the list price of converting one PDF page (US $0.10), and every conversion is charged one Credit per page.

2. Accounts

Accounts are created with a verified email address. You are responsible for your account and must keep your information accurate. The Service is not available to children under 14.

3. Credits and Payments

• Credits are purchased in top-up packages as displayed at checkout (e.g., US $10 = 100 credits; US $20 = 220; US $30 = 360).
• Payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Ltd. ("Paddle"). Paddle handles payment data and applicable taxes; the Company does not store card details. Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to purchases.
• Charging rule: credits are reserved before a conversion starts and are only deducted when the conversion succeeds. Failed or cancelled-while-queued conversions are not charged (see the Refund Policy).
• Purchased credits are valid for 5 years from purchase. Promotional (coupon) credits follow their stated expiry and are non-refundable.

4. Your Content

You retain all rights to documents you upload and to the resulting DOX. You represent that you have the necessary rights to upload and process the documents. You grant the Company a licence to process, store, and display your content solely to provide the Service.

5. External Processing Notice — Important

PDF documents are transmitted to an external document-recognition processor located in the United States for conversion. By uploading a PDF you consent to this transfer; the processor is identified in the Privacy Policy (Processors and International Transfers). The conversion of DOCX files is performed on the Company's own servers and is not transmitted externally (AI add-on features you run are covered by Section 5-2). Please consider this before uploading confidential documents.

5-2. Limitations of AI — Important

Conversion, Precision Review, translation, and document export are performed by AI (automated recognition) technology, and AI can make mistakes: content may be missing, mistranslated, or converted incorrectly (including equations, tables, and numbers). The Company does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any output. Precision Review is an assistive tool that helps find errors; it does not guarantee that all errors are found, and passing review does not certify correctness. You are responsible for verifying outputs against the original before using them for any consequential purpose (legal, medical, financial, safety, regulatory, or contractual). When you run an AI add-on feature (translation or Precision Review), the content of that document (text and images) is transmitted to an external AI model provider located in the United States; running the feature constitutes consent, and details are given in the Privacy Policy.

6. Prohibited Use

Uploading or hosting unlawful content, scraping, reverse engineering, reselling accounts or credits, infringing third-party rights, and interfering with the Service are prohibited and may result in suspension.

7. Disclaimers and Liability

Conversion relies on automated recognition and is not guaranteed to reproduce the original with 100% fidelity; material defects are handled under the Refund Policy. Downloaded files (offline viewer, DOCX) may differ in formatting from the on-screen rendering (e.g., equations are included as raw LaTeX), and you are responsible for keeping backups of downloaded files. Free or "coming soon" features may change or be withdrawn without notice. To the extent permitted by law, the Company's aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the preceding 12 months. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

8. Termination and Data

You may close your account at any time; stored documents are deleted (except records we must keep by law) and remaining credits are handled under the Refund Policy. When a hosting period expires, public viewing and downloads are suspended; the document remains in your account and access resumes when the period is extended. If the Service is discontinued, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund unused purchased credits.

9. Changes and Governing Law

We may update these Terms with 7 days' notice (30 days for material adverse changes). These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your place of residence.

nexonbook Corp. (the "Company") processes personal data as follows.

1. Data We Process

Account data (email, hashed password) for sign-in and notices, kept until account deletion; uploaded documents and converted DOX to provide the service, deleted when you delete them or your account; credit transaction records for billing and fraud prevention, kept 5 years as required by Korean e-commerce law; access logs and essential cookies for security, kept 3 months. We do not store card details — payments are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. The Service is not for children under 14.

Every uploaded PDF is transferred to Mathpix without exception. The conversion of DOCX files happens on our own servers and is not transferred externally. The transfers above happen only when you run translation or Precision Review. Precision Review renders page images of the original and sends them as well; those images are kept in our storage for a limited period so you can view the result again, and are then deleted automatically. You may refuse international transfers, in which case the corresponding features (PDF conversion, translation, Precision Review, payments) will be unavailable. Display settings and offline-viewer bookmarks are stored only in your browser (localStorage), not on our servers.

3. Deletion, Your Rights, Security, Cookies, Contact

Data is irreversibly deleted when retention ends. You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction at any time (privacy@palmdox.com). We use TLS in transit, one-way password hashing, least-privilege access, and access logging. Only essential cookies are used; no advertising cookies. Changes to this policy are announced 7 days in advance (30 days for material changes).
