What exactly is a PalmDox?
A PalmDox is a document your browser opens directly. One URL is the online copy; download it and a single file is the offline copy — contents, search, bookmarks, notes and language switching all live inside it. Nothing to install.
Why a PalmDox instead of a PDF. A PDF is locked to a paper size — on a phone you pinch and drag to read it, the letters are frozen like a picture so screen readers lose the reading order, and search barely catches it. To change one line you build a new file and send it again. A PalmDox is laid out for the screen — text reflows, screen readers move through real headings, lists and tables, and because the body is text it can be searched and indexed. Edit it and the address stays the same.
In 2026 this is no longer a matter of taste. The European Accessibility Act applies to new products and services placed on the EU market from 28 June 2025 — it reaches any company selling to EU customers, wherever it is based, and it covers downloadable documents such as manuals and notices (existing services have until 28 June 2030). The standard is EN 301 549, which follows WCAG and PDF/UA (ISO 14289-2:2024). Bringing a PDF up to that means hand-tagging structure, reading order and alt text, page by page. A PalmDox is born with that structure.
What PalmDox does. Upload the PDF you already have and it becomes a PalmDox in seconds. We translate it into 37 languages and publish a measured quality grade for each one. The address is permanent, you can add passwords and a QR code, and inside a downloaded file the content itself is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. No subscription — credits, paid as you use them.

How much does it cost?
Start from $10 = 100 credits — no subscription; bigger packs give 10–20% more credits. Credits are used per action: file conversion (PDF) and translation (per language added). Sharing and password protection are always included at no extra cost. Top up whenever you run low. Credits are valid for 5 years.
Does the URL change when I update the document?
No. The URL is permanent. When you upload a new version, anyone with the existing link sees the updated content immediately. No need to resend links or re-print QR codes.
What file types can I upload?
PDF is fully supported. Maximum file size is 50MB per document. We translate text inside figures, but hand-drawn figures, graphs or charts made of small intricate lines, and figures containing formulas are left exactly as they are — redrawing them could change what they appear to say. Figures we leave untouched are not charged.
What languages are supported?
37 languages — 한국어, English, 日本語, 中文(简体), Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Tiếng Việt, Bahasa Indonesia, Italiano, العربية, हिन्दी, বাংলা, ไทย, Русский, Filipino, اردو, Türkçe, नेपाली, ខ្មែរ, မြန်မာ, Монгол, සිංහල, Oʻzbekcha, Кыргызча, Тоҷикӣ, ລາວ, Română, Polski, Українська, Български, Shqip, Hrvatski, Čeština, Magyar, Ελληνικά. We measure translation quality for every language ourselves and publish the grade and score in the table below, re-measuring every three months and whenever the translation engine is updated.
What’s the difference between keeping it on PalmDox and downloading the file to our own server?
Both work. PalmDox hosting is one link, and edits go live the moment you save. Self-hosting means downloading a single PalmDox file and putting it wherever you like — it opens with no internet at all, but a few things do not travel inside the file. Here is the full difference.

Is PalmDox a service I can rely on?
PalmDox is built by nexonbook Corp. (nexonbook.com). The company was founded on 18 May 2011 and has been developing and supplying software ever since — 15 years.

PalmDox continues that line — encrypted in transit and at rest, content that will not open just because someone knows the address (every open issues a signed link good for fifteen minutes), and, inside a downloaded PalmDox file, content encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
