Why a PalmDox — not a PDF.
A PDF — locked to a paper size
On a phone you zoom and drag sideways to read it. The letters are frozen like a picture, so screen readers lose the reading order and search barely catches it. To change one line you build a new file and send it again — and the other side cannot tell which copy is current.
A PalmDox — laid out for the screen
Text re-flows to fit the screen, and a table of contents takes you straight to the part you want. Screen readers walk headings, lists and tables as structure, and because the body is text it can be searched and indexed. Edit it and the address stays the same, so the link you already sent is always the current one. Readers need no app — a QR code comes with it, and you can add a password.
In 2026 this is a rule, not a taste
The European Accessibility Act applies to new products and services placed on the EU market from 28 June 2025 — wherever your company sits, selling to EU customers counts, and downloadable documents such as manuals are included (existing services have until 28 June 2030). The standard is EN 301 549, which follows WCAG and PDF/UA.

Downloads are encrypted too
Inside the single downloaded PalmDox file, the content itself is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Your browser decrypts it on the spot when you open the file.

Q.01 What exactly is a PalmDox?
A PalmDox is a document your browser opens directly. One URL is the online copy; download it and a single file is the offline copy — contents, search, bookmarks, notes and language switching all live inside it. Nothing to install.

Q.02 How much does it cost?
Start from $10 = 100 credits — no subscription; bigger packs give 10–20% more credits. Credits are used per action: file conversion (PDF) and translation (per language added). Sharing and password protection are always included at no extra cost. Top up whenever you run low. Credits are valid for 5 years.
Q.03 Does the URL change when I update the document?
No. The URL is permanent. When you upload a new version, anyone with the existing link sees the updated content immediately. No need to resend links or re-print QR codes.
Q.04 What file types can I upload?
PDF is fully supported. Maximum file size is 50MB per document. We translate text inside figures, but hand-drawn figures, graphs or charts made of small intricate lines, and figures containing formulas are left exactly as they are — redrawing them could change what they appear to say. Figures we leave untouched are not charged.
Q.05 What languages are supported?

Q.06 What’s the difference between keeping it on PalmDox and downloading the file to our own server?
Both work. PalmDox hosting is one link, and edits go live the moment you save. Self-hosting means downloading a single PalmDox file and putting it wherever you like — it opens with no internet at all, but a few things do not travel inside the file. Here is the full difference.

Q.07 Is PalmDox a service I can rely on?
PalmDox is built by nexonbook Corp. (nexonbook.com). The company was founded on 18 May 2011 and has been developing and supplying software ever since — 15 years.
What we have built through those years is online software with data security at its centre, and the service has run on AWS as a SaaS throughout. PalmDox continues that line — encrypted in transit and at rest, content that will not open just because someone knows the address (every open issues a signed link good for fifteen minutes), and, inside a downloaded PalmDox file, content encrypted with AES-256-GCM. What is locked at each stage is written out in the Security section above, in six cards.
